On April 17, the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) extended the suspension period of FTX Europe's license, prohibiting the company from providing services until September 30, 2024. FTX Europe must take the necessary actions to comply with the relevant provisions of the Investment Services and Activities Act and the Regulated Markets Act, the agency said. FTX Europe is prohibited from providing investment services as well as conducting any business transactions with anyone or accepting any new clients. The company is also prohibited from advertising investment services, the announcement noted.
On the other hand, FTX Europe is required by the regulator to complete all its transactions and clients' transactions at their request. The Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission has ordered that the company must also return all funds and financial instruments attributed to its clients.
