Trump says he directed Musk to review Defense Department spending

On February 7 local time, US President Trump said that he had instructed Musk's Department of Government Effectiveness team to review the spending of the US Department of Defense. On January 20 local time, US President Trump signed an executive order on the day of his swearing-in to form an advisory committee called the "Department of Government Effectiveness (DOGE) ", with a view to launching major reforms to the federal government.
