BlackRock increases stake in Strategy to 5%, STRK rises 5% before market

BlackRock (BLK) disclosed in its latest 13G filing that its shareholding ratio in Strategy (MSTR) has increased to 5%, or about 11.20 million shares, an increase of 0.91% from 4.09% as of September 30, 2024. 13G filings are typically used to disclose passive investments, where the investor has no intention of influencing or controlling the company. Meanwhile, Strategy's permanent preference share (STRK), which has been listed on the Nasdaq, rose 2% on its first day of trading, with volume exceeding 650,000 shares. It rose another 5% in premarket trading.
