ECB Governing Council: support gradual interest rate cuts of 25 basis points

In order to keep inflation at 2 per cent, the ECB may need to cut interest rates below the neutral rate, which would be below 2 per cent and would need to clearly maintain a downward trend in rates, said Mr. Centeno, the ECB's governor, adding that he supported a gradual cut of 25 basis points.
