The Cboe BZX exchange has proposed amending Rule 19.3 to allow exchanges to offer trading in Ethereum spot ETF options, a "competitive filing" based on a similar proposal filed by NYSE America, which is currently awaiting approval from the Securities Exchange Commission.
The filing specifically mentions the Bitwise Ethereum ETF, grey release Ethereum trust, grey release Ethereum mini-trust, and "any trust holding Ethereum". "The exchange believes that offering Ethereum fund options will benefit investors by providing them with additional, relatively low-cost investment vehicles to gain exposure to spot Ethereum, as well as a hedging instrument to meet their investment needs in Ethereum products and positions," Cboe BZX wrote in the filing.
