ARK Invest said in its "Big Ideas 2025" report that stablecoins are one of the fastest growing sectors in the digital asset space, and despite a two-year bear market and a market cap decline of more than 70%, the growth momentum of stablecoins remains unaffected.
In 2024, the transaction volume reaches 15.60 trillion US dollars, which is about 119% and 200% of the transaction volume of Visa and MasterCard, respectively. The number of monthly transactions of stablecoins reached 110 million, which is only 0.41% and 0.72% of the transactions processed by Visa and MasterCard. In other words, the single transaction amount of stablecoins is much higher than that of Visa and MasterCard.
