Ripple CTO David Schwartz updated that it is still uncertain whether the network problem will be resolved or self-healing. According to the previous XRPL browser page, network activity froze at block height 93927174 for 64 minutes, and then restarted at 10:58 am UTC on February 4. David Schwartz added that four things can happen if a node knows that it cannot reach a consensus with other nodes on the state of the network:
1. Nodes find a starting point that they will not arrive at earlier.
2. The node attempts to find a location and resume normal operation at or after the starting point.
3. Over time (ideally 30 seconds), the network will regenerate at a safe and appropriate point.
4. Once the critical point is reached, a round of consensus will be jointly completed and a verification will be issued to prove that the round of consensus has been successfully completed.
