2025-02-01 06:28:51
On February 1st, according to foreign media reports, US President Trump said on Friday that the United States will impose tariffs on imports such as computer chips, pharmaceuticals, steel, aluminum, copper, oil and natural gas as soon as mid-February. Trump added that he also wants to impose tariffs on the European Union, but did not specify the timing and rate of tariffs. The announced tariffs on these industries and the European Union appear to be separate from the 25% tariffs on Canada and Mexico. Trump's proposed tariffs would be added to existing tariffs on these products. White House Press Secretary Levitt previously confirmed at a press conference that the Trump administration would impose 25% tariffs on Mexican and Canadian goods effective February 1.
