US stocks close: Tesla's market value falls below $500 billion

U.S. stocks closed Tuesday with the Dow initially up 0.17 percent, the S & P 500 down 0.21 percent and the Nasdaq down 0.12 percent. Tesla (TSLA. O) fell 2.7 percent and its market capitalization fell below $500 billion. NVIDIA (NVDA. O) rose 1.6 percent and Apple (AAPL. O) fell 1.9 percent. The Nasdaq China Golden Dragon index closed down 1.2 percent, Alibaba (BABA. N) fell 1.4 percent and Bilibili (BILI. O) fell more than 2 percent.
