Kraken founder Jesse Powell expressed his support for bitcoin entrepreneur Roger Ver, also known as Bitcoin Jesus, to seek a pardon from President Trump.
In an article on X, Powell argued that Mr. Ver, who renounced his US citizenship, was the victim of government overreach, not the tax evader portrayed by the authorities, arguing that the available evidence against him for tax evasion was highly dubious. Thus, an attempt by the Internal Revenue Service to prosecute and convict him appears to be a witch hunt.
