Bitcoin hash rate has exceeded the sum of Amazon AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure and other tech giants

The security of the Bitcoin network has reached unprecedented levels, with hash rates exceeding 800 EH/s in January 2025, a 33% increase from 600 EH/s in the past year. "Bitcoin hashrate recently reached an all-time high, surpassing the combined hashrate of tech giants like Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure, which together account for less than 1% of Bitcoin's total network capacity," Binance wrote in its blog. The hash rate measures the computing power used to process and secure bitcoin transactions, and higher hash rates make the network more secure and harder to attack. It also indicates that miners are active and confident in the future of bitcoin.
