According to the official website of the United Arab Emirates Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA), the SCA has released the draft regulation of securities and commodity tokens and invited the public to provide feedback by February 14, 2025. According to the draft, security tokens include equity tokens, bond tokens, Islamic bond tokens, and commodity tokens include gold tokens, oil tokens, etc. These tokens are all built on the blockchain/DLT platform and can be traded on the virtual asset DLT platform.
Among them, security tokens and commodity tokens can only be traded and settled through markets or alternative trading systems, while bonds and Islamic bonds can be traded and settled over the counter.
