On January 21, according to the typical case of punishing gambling and related crimes according to the law issued by the Supreme People's Court, the People's Court of Rongchang District of Chongqing City heard the case of defendant Wang Zhimou opening a casino. Through the "Yuzu Alliance" gambling platform development agent and gambler, the accumulated amount involved reached 590 million yuan, including more than 900 bank card accounts and virtual currency funds. The court sentenced Wang Zhimou to four years and five months in prison and fined for the crime of opening a casino. At the same time, the illegal income and the funds involved were confiscated.
The Supreme People's Court pointed out in explaining the typical significance of the case that the people's court worked closely with the public security, procuratorial and other departments to implement relevant seizure and freezing measures in accordance with the law, and confiscated tens of millions of yuan of funds involved in the case and a large amount of virtual currency.
