On April 16th, according to the recent announcement of the Ministry of Production, Science and Technological Innovation of the Province of Buenos Aires, Argentina, Worldcoin has been charged for allegedly including an abuse clause in its terms of service and may face a fine of up to 1 billion Argentine pesos (about 1.075 million dollars). The accusation stems from a review of consumer rights protection clauses in Worldcoin contracts, which force users to accept conditions that may violate national consumer protection laws. In addition, Worldcoin has inconsistencies in providing information about its biometric data scanning operations, especially regarding the data processing of minors. These activities involve the use of Orb devices to scan users' iris and facial data at multiple locations in Argentina. Worldcoin now needs to respond to these allegations and may need to amend or delete contract clauses that are considered to be abusive.
