On January 17, Beijing time, the US Supreme Court decided on TikTok "ban without selling" bill: the relevant provisions do not violate the petitioner's First Amendment rights. The Supreme Court upheld the bill, requiring TikTok to divest from its parent company ByteDance Group by 19 days or face a national ban in the United States. Earlier, it was reported that US President-elect Trump was considering issuing an executive order after taking office to suspend the implementation of the TikTok ban for 60 to 90 days.
