A woman in her 40s has been arrested for stealing someone else's phone and stealing virtual currency worth about 700 million won.
The alleged offender stole the mobile phone of a man he met in a public social network (SNS) chat room in Jeju City, and then used the personal information obtained in advance to transfer virtual currency to his account. The police launched an investigation through a victim report and successfully arrested the suspect in Gumo City, Gyeongsang-buk Province. The suspect confessed that he planned the crime to pay off his debts.
