The SEC appears to be moving forward with a series of enforcement cases it is currently hearing in court. Ripple Chief Legal Officer Stuart Alderoty wrote to X that the SEC will not delay filing briefs as part of its appeal of Ripple's judgment.
"Although this is a complete waste of time and taxpayer money, we are confident in the appeal's position and look forward to working with the new SEC leadership to resolve this matter," Mr. Alderoty said.
Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse echoed Alderoty's statement, suggesting that the SEC's approach to cryptocurrency enforcement could change after President-elect Trump takes office on January 20.
