According to The Block data, in the fourth quarter of 2024, the total amount of venture capital investment in the cryptocurrency space reached $4 billion, with a total of 687 transactions, the highest quarterly investment total since the fourth quarter of 2022.
Infrastructure projects accounted for the largest share of capital, although the number of deals (111) was lower than other categories. Financial services followed with $970 million of deployments. Web3 projects had the highest number of deals with 141, followed by NFT/gaming with 132. Trading and brokerage investments fell from $320 million in Quarter 1 to $161 million in Q4.
