Capital Group, a Los Angeles-based investment firm with more than $2.30 trillion under management, has become one of Metaplanet's largest shareholders.
Metaplanet, headquartered in Japan, attracted attention last year for building bitcoin (BTC) reserves by imitating Michael Saylor's MicroStrategy strategy.
Metaplanet currently holds 1,762 bitcoins, making it the 15th largest listed company in the world to hold bitcoin.
