Following last December's shocking non-farm payrolls data, investors are now turning their attention to December CPI data, scheduled for release next Wednesday. Bank of America analysts Sarah House and Aubrey Woessner expect headline inflation to hit a five-month high of 2.9 percent in December, up from 2.7 percent in November. Core CPI growth is expected to remain at 3.3 percent for the fourth consecutive month, they said in a note. Inflation, they argued, "will stall this year as disinflationary headwinds from improved supply chains and lower commodity prices have faded, while new headwinds are likely to emerge from trade policy."
