Microsoft will donate $1 million to President-elect Donald Trump's inauguration fund, matching donations from Google, Amazon, Meta, Apple CEO Tim Cook and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, a spokeswoman for Microsoft confirmed. The company donated $500,000 each to Trump's committee in 2017 and to President Joe Biden's committee in 2021, double the previous amount. It is a symbol of the tech industry's sweeping efforts to court Trump, who has dined with tech industry CEOs at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida since his victory in the 2024 election.
