Vice Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu meets with U.S. diplomats

On April 15, Vice Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu met with US Ambassador to China Burns, Assistant Secretary for Asia-Pacific Affairs of the US State Department Kang Da, and Senior Director for China Affairs of the White House National Security Council Bersalan. Yang Tao, Director of the US Department of General Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, held talks with the US side. The Chinese side expressed its solemn position on the US's recent "Indo-Pacific Strategy" against China and a series of wrong words and deeds related to China in China's surrounding areas, especially piecing together the US-Japan-Philippines coterie and disrupting the situation in the South China Sea. It demanded that the US not engage in camp confrontation and undermine peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific region.
