Speaking at the Innovative Finance Global Summit on Monday, British Economy Minister Bim Afolami said the government will introduce legislation for stablecoins and cryptocurrency staking, trading, and custody by June or July.
"We are now working on legislation to implement our regime's final recommendations," Afolami said. "Once it goes live, a range of crypto-asset activities, including operating exchanges, custody of client assets, etc., will be brought under the regulatory purview for the first time."
