On January 8, 27 current and former employees of the blockchain division of gaming giant WeMade have filed a lawsuit against the company for "unpaid" cryptocurrency bonuses, seeking about $11 million. The group said the company had promised to pay them cryptocurrency performance-based bonuses to reward work around WEMIX tokens. Some of these employees are still working at WeMade, made up of members of the Wemade Tree subsidiary, WeMade's former blockchain division.
It is reported that the company developed WEMIX, which was first listed on cryptocurrency exchanges in 2020. WeMade subsequently merged with WeMade Tree in February 2022.
