Bitcoin staking protocol Babylon has announced that it will launch the second phase of the testnet on January 8. The second phase of block production will start at 17:00 Beijing time on January 8, and the staking web application will go live at 18:00 on January 8. The first phase of the testnet staking will have the opportunity to register their staking into the second phase of the testnet Babylon chain.
The second phase of the testnet will launch a beta Babylon proof-of-stake chain, which is jointly protected by Babylon and Signet Bitcoin interests, including the Signet interests of the first phase of the testnet and the newly created Signet interests. Babylon said that the testnet only involves simulated test tokens (signet Bitcoin and test Babylon tokens), and the testnet has no incentives.
