Syria Proposes Legalizing Bitcoin to Boost Economic Recovery

The Syrian Center for Economic Research has proposed a plan to establish a regulatory framework to legalize the use of bitcoin in trading, mining, and financial transactions, and has urged the transitional government to adopt bitcoin and other digital assets to fight inflation, stabilize the economy, and attract global investment. In addition, the plan also promotes the digitization of the Syrian pound and the backing of gold, the U.S. dollar, and bitcoin.
