The dollar rallied further on the last trading day of 2024, rising to its highest level since November 2022. The New Zealand dollar and the Australian dollar lagged behind other currencies. The Bloomberg Dollar Index rose 0.4% to close to 8% for the year, its best annual performance since 2015, as a solid U.S. economy and President-elect Donald Trump's tax cuts and tariffs are expected to keep interest rates high.
