Crypto hackers have found an ingenious new way to trick victims into downloading malicious software that can give them access to their computers and empty their wallets, or cause other significant damage, security researcher Taylor Monahan has revealed. The hackers first pose as recruiters for a well-known crypto company, offering a target a salary of $200,000 to $350,000, it said. However, instead of tricking the target into opening a PDF containing malicious software, or having the victim download video calling software disguised as malicious software, the method asks the victim to follow instructions to fix microphone and video access issues, "If you follow their instructions, you're screwed."
