On April 14, analyst Srinivasan Sivabalan said that just a few weeks ago, the money market was predicting that the Federal Reserve would cut interest rates three times this year, but has now reduced those bets. Those expectations could take a further hit when the market opens on Monday, as the main concern is that soaring oil prices will fuel inflation. If there are any signs in recent days, risk aversion could boost the dollar and put pressure on Israeli shekels and emerging market currencies. Investors could flock further to U.S. Treasuries to be on the safe side.
