The Ministry of Commerce responds to China-Australia economic and trade relations

On December 26th, the Ministry of Commerce held a regular press conference. When asked by reporters, the Australian government announced that China has lifted the import restrictions on Australian lobster and lifted the last trade barrier between the two countries. He Yongqian, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce, said that it is understood that the competent departments of China and Australia have conducted in-depth and effective technical communication on the import of lobster to China. The Chinese side has evaluated the rectification measures provided by the Australian side and has resumed the routine inspection and quarantine of relevant products at ports in accordance with laws and regulations. It is hoped that the Australian side will meet China halfway and properly handle economic and trade concerns under the framework of WTO rules.
