Japanese crypto-focused financial firm SBI VC Trade will receive assets from hacked cryptocurrency exchange DMM Bitcoin, whose customer accounts are expected to be ready by March next year.
SBI said in the announcement that it has agreed to receive all DMM customer accounts and assets, which will be migrated to SBI on March 8, 2025.
The company said that DMM customers do not need to reopen accounts at SBI, which will automatically create accounts for DMM users who transfer.
DMM Bitcoin said earlier this month that unable to recover from a crypto wallet attack in May that resulted in the theft of $320 million, DMM decided to liquidate and move its customers to SBI.
DMM Bitcoin client accounts and assets will be migrated to SBI VC Trade on March 8, 2025
