Argentine authorities have ordered Tether to freeze 3.50 million USDT linked to Rainbowex, which is suspected of a pyramid scheme affecting thousands of people. The operation involved 22 search warrants and detained 22 people. Rainbowex misled investors with promises of cryptocurrency returns, but operated a closed-loop system that refused to withdraw money. Investigations revealed that actors were hired to pose as company representatives at events.
