USDC stablecoin issuer Circle has announced that it will launch an upgraded cross-chain transfer protocol, CCTP V2, on the Ethereum mainnet, Base, and Avalanche in early 2025. The new version will significantly improve the efficiency of USDC cross-chain transfers and achieve second-level settlement, which is a significant improvement over the existing version of minute-level settlement. Circle said that all cross-chain transactions will be guaranteed by it, and it will be expanded to more blockchain networks in the future.
