The Shanghai No. 2 Intermediate Court released a white paper on "equal emphasis on crime and governance" criminal trials, which disclosed that since 2019, more than 600 cases of crimes committed by financial trading platforms have been concluded. From the perspective of investment types, the investment categories of crimes committed by financial trading platforms are diverse and constantly evolving. They have changed from spot investments such as stamps and calligraphy and painting to financial investments such as futures, options, stocks, and foreign exchange transactions, and are now extending to emerging fields such as NFT (digital collections) and digital currencies. From the statistical data, the top three investment categories ranked by the number of cases are futures, stocks, and virtual currencies, accounting for about 50%, 20%, and 11% respectively. Criminals often use WeChat official accounts, Mini Programs, and live broadcasts to promote content such as so-called "virtual currencies", resulting in an expanding range of illegal information and a continued increase in the number of deceived people.
