12月8日讯，据CNN报道，当地居民表示，随着阿叙利亚政府军的防御崩溃，叙利亚反对派似乎已经进入大马士革。居民称，“叛军出现在大马士革市内的巴泽（Barzeh）镇，冲突目前正在发生。我看到反政府武装人员穿过巴泽的内巷，向警察俱乐部街移动，我可以听到非常响亮的冲突声。电力被切断，网络也很弱，人们只能待在家里。”
