Three of Europe's biggest aerospace companies - Airbus Europe, Thales of France and Leonardo of Italy - are in talks to create a new European satellite venture to compete with Elon Musk's Starlink project, the US space exploration company, in the fast-growing market for internet satellites. It is understood that the joint venture plan is known as "Project Bromo" and related discussions are still in the early stages. The three parties prefer to combine their satellite assets into a new enterprise. However, people familiar with the matter pointed out that the establishment of a joint venture is still several years away.
