Federal Reserve Chairperson Jerome Powell said on Wednesday that the US economy is stronger than it was when the central bank began cutting interest rates in September, leaving policymakers likely to be more cautious about further rate cuts. "We can be a little more cautious as we try to find a neutral position," Mr. Powell said. Mr. Powell's comments on Wednesday appeared to be in line with more cautious policymakers and largely echoed earlier views that the Fed could consider rate cuts "carefully" and did not need to rush. Mr. Powell's comments on Wednesday did not significantly change expectations of another 25 BP cut in December.
