Korean media: South Korean parliament votes to revoke martial law

According to the Korea Herald, South Korea's president declared a state of martial law late on Tuesday night. But if the opposition-controlled National Assembly votes to repeal the agreement, it will be a flash in the pan. After the surprise move by South Korean President Yoon Seok-yuk, the opposition Democratic Party quickly mobilized to repeal the measure, despite earlier reports that access to the South Korean National Assembly building was blocked under the emergency order. Democratic Party leader Lee Jae-myung issued an emergency instruction to all lawmakers on the same day to meet in the National Assembly Chamber. Despite the access restrictions imposed by the decree, lawmakers began to gather in an effort to cancel the declaration.
