BlackRock IBIT broke through 500,000 bitcoins (about $48 billion) under management on Monday, less than a year after the fund began trading on January 11.
BlackRock's Bitcoin ETF has amassed 496,854 BTC as of Nov. 29, according to the latest fund disclosure. According to K33, the fund had a net inflow of $338.30 million (3,526 BTC) yesterday, taking it past that milestone to 500,380 BTC, or 2.38% of the total supply of 21 million BTC.
Vetle Lunde, head of research at K33, said: BlackRock's breakthrough of 500,000 bitcoins is another important milestone after its glorious launch year. It remains the third-largest ETF in the US in terms of year-to-date inflows, surpassing the $314 billion Invesco QQQ fund.
