, Coinbase's chief policy officer, Hilzad, said he believes cryptocurrency legislation will move "fairly quickly" through Congress after Trump enters the White House. Trump was known for his well-known pro-cryptocurrency policy platform during his campaign. His comments come as two key cryptocurrency-related pieces of legislation are advancing through Congress. One is the Republican-sponsored 21st Century Financial Innovation and Technology Act, which aims to establish a legal framework for digital assets. The bill passed the House earlier this year. The other is the Payment Stablecoin Clarity Act, which seeks to establish a regulatory regime to license issuers of stablecoins - tokens pegged to the value of fiat currencies such as the U.S. dollar. The stablecoin bill has yet to be voted on in the House.
