"U.S. consumer confidence continued to improve in November, reaching its highest level in the past two years," said Dana M. Peterson, chief economist at the Conference Board. "The increase in November was largely due to consumers' more positive assessment of current conditions, particularly in the labor market. Consumer optimism about future job opportunities also increased significantly from October, reaching its highest level in nearly three years. At the same time, consumer expectations about future business conditions remained unchanged, while optimism about future earnings declined slightly."
Previously, the US Conference Board Consumer Confidence Index recorded 111.7 in November, the highest since July 2023.
