Digital Currency Group (DCG) is launching a new artificial intelligence-focused subsidiary, Yuma, to support the development of the open-source Bittensor network, a move that represents the convergence of the crypto and artificial intelligence worlds to provide startups and established businesses with capital and technical resources to build projects on Bittensor, a decentralized protocol that powers blockchain-based machine learning networks.
DCG first invested in Bittensor in 2021. The company has also invested in several decentralized AI companies, including Tensorplex, Natix and Flock. DCG founder Barry Silbert will serve as CEO of Yuma.
