Forta, a web3 security company backed by a16z crypto, Coinbase Ventures, and other investors, has launched a new product firewall to help detect and prevent smart contract vulnerabilities.
Forta raised $23 million in 2021 and is backed by a16z, Coinbase Ventures and others.
Firewalls are not Forta's first product. Andy Beal, head of the Forta Foundation, told The Block that in 2022, the company launched the Forta network, which allows decentralized finance (DeFi) platforms to monitor and detect threats in real time. Beal said the network has been used by more than 40 DeFi projects, including Compound, Lido, and MakerDAO, and is still operational.
