Bonk DAO recently destroyed 100 billion BONK in circulation and plans to destroy 1 trillion BONK before Christmas in December. The mass destruction program (BURNmas) will begin at 12:01am UTC on November 15th and end at 12:01am UTC on December 24th.
iamkadense, a core BONK contributor, posted on X: "7.70 trillion BONKs have been destroyed, and the daily destruction is increasing. In addition to the 100 billion recently destroyed, 1 trillion BONKs will be destroyed in BONKmas, and the community may not stop there."
These destroyed tokens will come from applications in the Solana ecosystem that utilize BONK for one or more functions. According to the official post, these include the destruction of bets placed on Dragontail, Christmas cards sent using BONKmark, transactions made on LiveBonk, and other applications designated by BONK's X account.
