The number of users of US social media platform Bluesky has surged as users flee X following the election of Donald Trump as the next US president, and pending changes to the terms of service could complicate the platform's legal challenges. Bluesky said on Thursday that about 2.50 million new users had been added in the past week, bringing the total number of users to more than 16 million. Following the news of Trump's presidential election, X received 46.50 million visits in the US on November 6, more than any other day in the past year and 38% more daily visits than in recent months, according to analytics firm SimilarWeb. But more than 115,000 U.S. users deactivated their X accounts, the most since Musk acquired the platform, while Bluesky drew about 1.20 million visitors on Nov. 6, surpassing the 950,000 of Meta's Threads platform.
