Crypto critic Elizabeth Warren will serve as the lead Democrat on the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee

According to an announcement, U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Massachusetts), one of the leading critics of the U.S. cryptocurrency industry, will become the lead Democrat on the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee in the next Congress, where she will provide input on digital asset legislation that may require the committee's approval.
"This new position represents a better opportunity to advance solutions such as building more homes to lower home prices and protecting consumers from private equity greed and special interest scams," she said in a statement on Wednesday. It is understood that if Democrats can regain control of the Senate within two years, she could become the next chair of the committee.
