The two Republicans running for seats in the U.S. House of Representatives defeated their Democratic opponents in the 2024 election, narrowing the gap between the party maintaining a majority in the House, but majority control remains to be determined.
Among them, Republican Jeff Hurd won the House election in Colorado's 3rd Congressional District with 50.1% of the vote (89% of the vote). Another Republican, Scott Perry, defeated Democrat Janelle Stelson in Pennsylvania's 10th Congressional District and was re-elected.
While in office, Scott Perry voted for the 21st Century Financial Innovation and Technology Act (FIT21), which has bipartisan support in the House of Representatives and is currently awaiting a vote in the US Senate. According to Jeff Hurd's campaign website, the Republican intends to support "FIT21-like legislation" and favors "sensible regulation of advanced technologies such as cryptocurrencies".
