Borelli: The outbreak of a wider war in Europe is no longer a fantasy

On April 9th, according to a report by the Financial Times, the Vice Chairman and Foreign Minister of the European Commission, Borrell, warned that Europe must be prepared for potential war, as a full-scale conflict on the European continent outside of Ukraine is no longer a fantasy. Borrell said, "Russia is threatening Europe, whether through the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict or a mixed attack on EU member states. War is certainly looming around us. It is no longer a fantasy to break out a high-intensity conventional war in Europe." This is the first time Borrell has so clearly pointed out Russia's threat. Previously, Nordic military leaders and leaders recently warned that Russia may launch more attacks outside of Ukraine. The Danish Defense Minister stated in February that Russia may test NATO's unity within three to five years.
