A 44-year-old Minnesota man, Joshua Paul Armbrust, has been indicted in connection with a "cryptojacking" scheme that used his former employer's computing resources to mine Ethereum (ETH), causing more than $45,000 in losses, according to the U.S. District Attorney's Office for Minnesota. Armbrust accessed the Amazon Web Service (AWS) account of Digital River, the company he once worked for, without permission from December 2020 to May 2021, using its resources for unauthorized cryptocurrency mining.
